These natural hot springs have been famous since the 18th century as a place of rejuvenation and relaxation in nature. Night market seems less busy than other places, maybe because of the pandemic. You can also get a view point where you can easily locate Rail Art Museum and a beautiful market. Do not forget to visit the station at sunset time because you will have the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view. Remote Taitung (台東 or Taidong) in the southeastern corner of Taiwan is a region of stunning beauty, especially along the coast and the inland East Rift Valley. Picture deserted beaches, colorful hot springs, and vistas of rice paddies backed by mountains – now you’re in Taitung. Held every summer at Luye, this festival lasts two months with pilots and specially shaped balloons from all over the world taking part, filling the summer sky over Luye with interesting sights. This is the biggest annual large-scale international tourism event in Taitung. Orchid Island’s Flying Fish Festival takes place from spring to summer. I recommend taking the one with all the stairs, tiring but you’ll be rewarded with an amazing view. The red eight-arch bridge connecting the island to the mainland is as majestic as a dragon playing in the ocean waves. The landscape, terrain and ecosystem on the island are very special and rare, so this is a famous place for studying marine ecosystems. They've got all sorts of interesting looking rocks as a result of erosion over the years. There's also a few stores selling souvenirs, ice cream and some other stuff. They have a trail to walk along and also can walk along the Rocky coast if you choose to. The shop dates back to 1934, and people literally queue up to buy these soft, chewy balls of goodness. They have all the usual stuffings like peanut, sesame, and red bean, but also a few other interesting options like sailfish, swordfish, mung bean, and their signature black mochi. Pisirian is only a few minutes’ drive from Sanxiantai, but you can also walk along the beach to get there. A great place to visit just outside Taitung city is Xiaoyeliu .
